The D ogon are an ethnic group living in the central region of Mali , southwest of the bend of the Niger River. The Dogon are especially known for their religious traditions, mask dances, wood sculpture, and architecture.
The chairs have been hand carved by the Dogon people using wood
indigenous. Stools are a strictly personal item and are said to be
the seat of the soul of the owners.
